The painting of Drummond Money-Coutts has been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in London at the BP Portrait Award a prestigious international exhibition of potraiture. The gallery houses portraits of historically important and famous British people, selected on the basis of the significance of the sitter, not that of the artist. The collection includes photographs and caricatures as well as paintings, drawings and sculpture. One of its best-known images is the Chandos portrait, the most famous portrait of William Shakespeare and self-portraits by William Hogarth.
The Hon. Drummond William Thomas Money-Coutts (born 11 May 1986), also known as DMC, is an English magician and specialist card shark, and the heir apparent to the Latymer Barony. His first professional performance came in 2000 while he was still at school at the Royal Horticultural Society.
The Agnes Toth painting of Drummond Money-Couts is a fine example of traditional portraiture with a modern approach. “The man of today, the man of our age. He is an iconic figure, ambitious, unique and metropolitan; with a strong traditional and historical English background. Drummond’s character seemed to be the perfect model to describe portraiture today”.
